Melani Lust - truly one of the best in the industry - has the innate ability to capture the most important memories full of emotion and feeling as well as the minute moments that are often overlooked - a warm smile from a loving father, a kiss from a newly-married husband or a small tear on the face of a proud mother. Melani manages to immortalize the spirit of an event in her images.
Which is why I love to revisit (and often do) one of my favorite weddings of which we have ever had the pleasure of being a part. And Melani Lust photographed this exquisite event. It was a tricky backyard in Wilton, CT that required some creative leveled-flooring and staking, but Vanda High Events expertly planned this wedding and KD&J Botanica took it to the next level with her decor and floral design. The crown jewel of the tent was the center pole that was decked out in greenery and candles creating a fairy-tale glow under the Sperry Tent.
A clean and fresh palette of white, green and purple was carried throughout the different spaces and dreamy translucent curtains around the tent let the warm summer air mingle with the scents of the hydrangeas, roses, baby's breath and muscari that graced each table. A simple, but powerful arrangement crafted by KD & J Botanica.
My favorite moment from this utterly gorgeous wedding was when the groom literally had to shield his eyes when cutting his groomsmen cake which was a perfect replica of his beloved Audi R8 designed and created by the incredible team at Ana Parzych Cakes. No detail was overlooked as Ana Parzych and her team had to figure out how to translate their skills of creating intricate lace and flowers to tire treads and silver rims. I think they did an excellent job!
It came as no surprise that this wedding was featured in Town & Country magazine in October of 2012. Melani submitted the images and obviously they chose the one of the groom covering his eyes. What a most memorable moment!
And after all was said and done and the guests found their way back to their homes and the tents were removed, Christine and Josh celebrated their nuptials in style at the Four Seasons Bora Bora. Not a bad place for a honeymoon! We hope Christine and Josh are enjoying every minute of their lives together. We are eternally grateful they chose us to be a part of the beginning of it.
