Back to School: Yale School of Management Event

With a median age of 35 years, the GTC staff is a fairly young (albeit highly experienced) group of professionals. But that doesn't mean that we aren't always willing to learn and try new ways to innovate in the field. Learning is truly lifelong! Which is why we jumped at the chance to work with Yale School of Management for an event in May. A 50x100 Anchor Navitrac frame tent with clear tops nestled amongst the gorgeous architecture of campus. Instead of staking all around the tent as we normally do, we had to problem solve due to some staking restrictions and settled upon using nearly 18000 pounds of ballast from Block and Roll to hold this little beauty in place. And we are happy to report it went off without a hitch.

Schools out for summer!

Don't Forget the Monster Montrachet!

Is a party even a party if you don't have two magnum bottles of Montrachet?

The answer is probably not. Such was not the case for our friends at Stella Day Events who threw a perfect wedding for a wonderful couple on June 24th at a private home in Greenwich, CT. The 40x90 clear top tent made by Anchor Tents was turned into a gorgeous summer fete by Kerri-Lynn of Stella Day Events and a top notch list of vendors. The weekend was a nerve-frazzler as the weather turned from sun to rain to sun to down pours, but with all the smiles of the beautiful people of Social Decor, Winston Flowers, Gather and Lounge, Vali Entertainment and the incredible Chef Daniel Boulud. Meg Barlow took some incredible images of the day, but we're pretty fond of these behind-the-scenes pics of the top notch vendors, some giant Montrachet and even some amateur photography action from our own Zachary Wilson.

Training Day: Frame Tents

There's a lot of legwork that goes into making your big event go without a hitch. Likewise, there's a lot of legwork that goes into us being able to produce fabulous events weekend after weekend quickly, safely and efficiently without losing any of the beauty that our tents are known for. To prep for such a strenuous and long season, we have all our crew get together in May and go over the basics of installing all of our tents, flooring and lighting. It's a great way to introduce the greenhorns to all of the equipment and the process and it's always good for the seasoned members to get a quick refresher as well.

We were honored to have Anchor Tent's very own Mike Fenton come out and help us one of the days as well. Thanks Mike!

Bring on the 2018 Tenting Season!
